The Markus Lifenet or "Markusnet" as professional seamen call it to honour the inventor, is already on board thousands of vessels of various types, all over the world. It is used several times every month both in real man-overboard "MOB" rescue operations and as MOB safety and rescue teaching and training tool, to prevent man overboard incidents becoming expensive and serious tragedies

It is not newsworthy any longer when it is used, as it does solve the problem instantly, where it is used in proper manner and where the users are aware of its limits and advantages.

In Iceland, the Markusnet is on all vessels over 15 metre length and on all major quay areas around the country. There it is requested in regulation by the organisations of ship owners, mariners, fishermen and harbour masters as it has proven to be of great value in many rescue operations.
